Desparate to escape the NHS reaching crunch point, am v interested in any franchise/own business ideas that mnetters have done that have proved enjoyable and (reasonably) lucrative.

Also ones to avoid!

depemnds how much you need to earn - i know people doing Mini-IQ earning well over £1000 per month by personal sales plus team sales. It does take hard work, and you need to keep at it - but easily achieveble if you can train and develope others .

You can earn much more - I earnt 6k for 2 months pre-xmas last year and my team leader earnt between 10 and 20k in November alone.

I can agree with wohmum - I'm new to MINI-IQ but doing well - fits in around the children and you get out what you put in.

I sell captain tortue and stardust as an agent at parties and fairs. I found some good resources when looking at who to work for. there are some good franchises but you need to research carefully. I went for agent / party plan because I had little money to invest. Whatever you do you will need to be enthusiastic, resiliant, driven and bounce back - often people do it because they want flexibility but bouncing from domestic crisis to business mode takes some doing...at least when you are at work you leave home behind to some extent,
For a couple of thousand you could have a licence to opperate {mini franchise] and do baby singing / signing / music groups which are always popular. Language teaching or drama are well established.
Franchises are far more common than you would think look at the british franchise association web site. Franchises start at 5000 and go up to several hundred thousand for names like mc donalds...
