I get paid monthly in my new job. I started on Monday 3rd March. The finance dept send the payroll on a Friday. Will I have to work a month in hand before I get paid or will I be paid on the 15th?

You should get paid on 15th if your staritng beat the cut off. Ours is about 10th for mid motnh payroll - roughly 2 weeks in arrears , 2 in advance.

oh, so you think I may get paid then? It has about 50 employees.

They will have a cut-off date as Lizs says.

Whether you get paid may well depend on how organised and on the ball your manager is about getting your starting details and bank details to the payroll person. Also how sympathetic and flexible the payroll person is able to be with late payroll details coming in after the cut off....

Hey Flowery...how are you??!

Have you got your website up and running yet??

ooh hello!

Website not up and running yet mostly due to lack of nanny . Have written most of the text though during DS's naps...! So it's just putting it in the right place and making sure it works that's next.

DH and I are going to do it ourselves probably over a few evenings when we are less knackered and then as long as it looks v professional and generally fab, we'll go with that, anything less and I'll be forking out for lapin or someone to do it for me, can't stand bad websites!

How's the job? Fancy reassigning your mum down here for some emergency childcare?

Am on a 4 week training course at the moment so bit tiring! So much to take in...

If I could send my mum down I would. She is fab! Has taken dd2 to so many places and is generally having loads of fun. She keeps a little diary for me every day so that I can see what they have been up to and puts loads of pictures in too. Its really sweet!

I hope you can find a good (and qualified) nanny soon! It makes all the difference to have peace of mind.

Sounds like a fantastic idea of yours to work for yourself. Your expertise are really sought after. I wish you all the success in the world!

You and your DH must visit Edinburgh soon!!

Training is knackering isn't it, and 4 weeks, blimey!

Good to hear dd2 is doing well, I am getting a bit fed up trying to find myself someone after a few false starts, but although I am impatient to do more than bits and pieces between DS, at least I don't actually have a 'going back to work' deadline like most people.

Thanks for good wishes! I will advertise ask for opinions on my website when it's done so you can have a butchers for me, see if you'd pay me loads of cash a very reasonable fee for my services if you were a potential client.

(sorry for hi-jack Lola!)
