I know a couple of people who work for Building Societies on annualised hours contracts. One has children and so works the hours around them, the other has no children and likes to work during school holidays so that she can travel outside of school holidays.

I know a Health Care Assistant in a hospital who has a term time only contract.

I also remember seeing an advert for a local insurance company with a big call centre advertising term time only contracts.

I work part-time in a village pub - waitressing in the day and two evenings on the bar.

When it comes to school holidays, I still go in for the evening work but have the days off and just get paid for what I do.

I get four weeks holiday per year, so to minimise loss of wages, I take a week in February half term and a week for the October half term.

At Easter, DH is on holiday Easter Monday week, so I will still go in on my days (he gets to spend time with the Ds's and I get to earn some money).

Will take our main two week holiday in July/August, so again, I will qualify for holiday pay.

Some universities offer these types of contracts if the job is working with student needs (not necessarily teaching them, but admin of all kinds, also looking after them etc)
