I'm not sure how 'teachery' they will want me to be, using all the right terms etc, and how much 'me' they will want, i.e enthusiatic, good with people, keen to help the children etc.
I have 3 kids, 2 years experience in a private preschool, and an NVQ3 so have some knowledge of whats required. Don't want to come across as a dry robot. Help?

Oh how lovely to get an enthusisatic NN! They'll snap you up!

(vacancy in Lincolnshre if you're anywhere near me)

Seriously though just be yourself & show you have a love of kids- the rest you can learn although you must have some experience of Early Learning Goals /Foundation stage through your NVQ training?

Thankyou BB, but I'm down South! I always feel I am on auto edu-waffle when I start talking about frameworks, and milestones etc etc. I don't do technical questions very well! I know I know it...but its the terms used that put me off....I'll rehearse I think.

Don't say you want the job because it fits in with your kids, and you like the school.

Do make the most of using any educational jargon you know. Knowledge of the curriculum, age-related expectations, etc. are crucial these days.

Earlier this year dh interviewed for a Snr TA and they didn't appoint, as they were unsatisfied with the responses/knowledge from the candidates. The re-advertised and got some good candidates.

What age/class is it for?

It's for Year 2, and pupil specific giving some extra help to a child with SN. I am really keen to be classroom based, and will swot up on all the appropriate jargon over the weekend, so it trips naturally off my tongue. Thanks!
