Had an interview on Mon for a temporary ks2 job. Just me and one other candidate. Anyway, after interview ("informal"btw, and before closing date, which is today) HT says "I don't expect anyone else to apply....but I'm interviewing xxxx (me and xxxx had already met when we visited school to look round)so I will let you know the outcome at 11am."and she made sure she had all my numbers, and if i would be in.

Well she STILL HASN'T RANG!!! I have left about 5 messages. I had been thinking that I obv did'nt get it, but how long does it take just to phone and say "sorry you were not successful" of even leave a msg for the sec to pass on or phone me with?

Do I phone again and see if the sec can say y or N? Or just forget it and assume the worst? I can't bear to be stressing all wend about it. I know shes busy but I just think she's rude now. Any other interpretations? TIA

I wouldn't assume the worst, maybe she has just be caught up with something unexpected.

I don't think there is any point calling her again, I'm sure once she has received your messages she will call you back.

Best of luck, let us know once you have found out.

She may be wanting to make sure you both hear the news (good or bad) at the same time.

(BIG HIJACK, REALLY SORRY YELLOW)
No, 'cos I've not got the car, I'm picking up dd's mate from school, ds is going to his mates after school, then dh comes in with car, I run dds mate back home, pick up organic veg box (get me!), drop car off, then dh takes ds to footie. By the time they get home, it's the end of Corinori Street. You are more than welcome to come to ours, however, and I'll feed your dd along with said mate and dd.

(REALLY, REALLY SORRY)

Yellow - I have a saying of 'no news means you aint got the job' This is through experience on both sides of the fence. When I am recruiting I always phone the successful candidate asap and then follow it up in writing.

There are times when that doesn't always follow of course, there may be a valid reason for them not getting in touch sooner. Don't ring again, 5 messages is enough.

Hope you do get it by the way
