I'm in a pickle, took on a job that I knew I couldn;t finish in my alloted days, but was interesting and I wanted to do it. did a few hours extra and it's not done. it's meant to be done by tomorrow am. even if I stayed awake all night I couldn;t do it. the only person who'll actually know about my failure to meet this deadline is someone a bit junior to me. they are quite likley scared of me and won't have the nouse to mind. but I feel a bit crappy - mainly cos I shouldn;t have taken it on in the first place - could have easily passed it to someone else - and because I'm always harping on about sticking to deadlines. oh crap.

spend a few hours on it tonight and then try and spend a few more tomorrow

Do you have to work or look after kids tomorrow? If so, I'd say get some sleep. Otherwise you could have a go tonight and get as much done as you can, so at least you'll feel that you had a bloody good try!

the reality is that if I had passed it on to someone else - there's no way they would have finished it either! difficult to say that but I know it's true.
