anyone know roughly how they work out your payments?

only cos I'm thinking about doing a little p/t job - 12-15 hours apparently at £5.35 p/h can arrage child care but I'd be basically working for £30 p/w after the childcare bit was paid, would I qualify for the help witht he child care/how much do u recon my credits would reduce by?

(it's either that or a w/e one in tesco's which I think i'd prefer as DH could then look after J - I don't feel as bad about leaving him for 4/5 hours on a w/e if he's with daddy but don't really want to leave him with a minder iycwim.)

i work 8 hours and get £317 a month for 2 kids.also as its under 16hours i get a small amount of income support

used to work 16hours and get working tax credit and all but a fiver a week paid inchildcare costs.

i was definitely better of doing 16hours but had to reduce my hours when our school laid support staff off

so all your wages bar £5 went on child care when u did 16 hours, but u're better off finacially with less hours? i'm not folling. lol.

no sorry that came across wrong, when i worked 16 hours and got working tax, all my childcare costs except £5 were paid for by the benefits people or whoever paid them and i got child tax along side the working tax.

hope that seems better
