What is the cap on childcare vouchers?

I am trying to obtain childcare vouchers for the first time and my employer says I am only entitled to 124 a month based on an earnings assessment they have done. However, I am not a higher rate tax payer - I earn less than 41,865, so I believe I should be entitled to the full amount (243) from everything I have read. Does anyone know? I have queried this with HR and they have yet to respond, so wanted to get some mumsnet knowledge before I chased for an answer.

If you're a basic rate taxpayer then you should be getting £243 per month. I would chase up to see what they've based the income estimates on and hope they can change it.

Thanks riksti. I have chased them and apparently they have added on my medical insurance benefit to my taxable earnings which takes me over the threshold. Sad Oh well. These benefits are confusing!
