Been working at my company for 6 years now and the last 12 months have been stressful. Basically I have moved changed job role 3 times due to verbal warnings and being given a disciplinaries. I have maintained a professional manner due the fact the hours are convenient for childcare. But I want to leave as am totally demotivated . At the same time am trying to conceive. Any advice appreciated

I am in the same boat. I am trying to look for another job more family friendly before properly trying though as i cant afford to be a sahm, otherwise i would! I suppose you would get maternity leave and you could always look whilst on maternity. Do what makes you happy, being miserable in a job wont rekindle any job motivation, it will bring stress and dread.

Thank you daisydee43 nice to hear someone else's job experiences. Unfortunately don't have the luxury of not working at present. Might consider some other form of income I.e online surveys,or starting something from home, card making.

Thank you diamond457, what a dilemma, I can't afford to be a SAHM either Which is why looking at other options working from home will take time. Maternity leave is a good option and can make a fresh start Like you mentioned stress doesn't motivate anyone.

I would get a new job.

What ever the ins and outs of the verbal warnings and disciplinaries, I wouldn't want to be juggling childcare in a job where I had this background and I wouldn't want to be leaving a child in childcare to do a job that I really hated.

The only reason not to move would be if you really can't find anything else.

Not sure that there is that much money in card making.

vineyard I have been in a similar situation, without the disciplinary. I was asking for promotion and pay rises and they fobbed me off every time. I know I was underpaid from what I hear over coffees and job boards. But I wanted a second, and so I hang on to the job. But I was totally demotivated.

What happened was, I had a couple of miscarriages and 18mo down I still wasn't pregnant. I got made redundant (I think the selection criteria was totally unfair). Then I found a new job quickly and was pregnant after a month.

In the end, you can't predict how everything turns out.

Thanks merrymouse , I agree that the juggle with the both is stressful. Looking at other job roles as an option .As my DS is nearly 3 so do have option of my childcare getting cheaper. which would free me up to more work options.

Theres money in making wedding invites/save the dates/table names. If card making id aim for that area.

Thanks for replying one littletoddlerterror. Sorry to hear about the miscarriages, but glad you were eventually blessed with a bundle of joy.I hope thing will work out as have experienced the demotivation factor. Just out of interest how did it work out with the new job and you becoming pregnant?
