I'm currently on mat leave. Prior to my commencing mat leave my line manager asked me to put forward a regrading application. I put a lot of work to into this, had joint meeting with HR and my LM and submitted the paperwork.
However everything stopped once my mat leave started and I've heard nothing. I emailed my LM and he told me that there were some things that need to be rewritten and that it was all going ahead. That was months ago.
I'm not too stressed about it as I am on mat leave. However I intend to return FT and believe my role has changed and I deserve consideration for a regrade at least. I now manage projects, team has doubled, budget I'm responsible for has tripled and I have a seasonal responsibility for a team of 30 temps (in addition to my permanent team).
Any advice on how best to handle this on me return? Do you think it's unfair that they've just dropped it as I'm on mat leave? I don't want to rock the boat but I believe that you get nothing if you don't put yourself forward and that's why I need to stand up for my regrade. In addition, if it helps clarify things. I am on the management group team and am the only member of staff on my grade, all others are the grade above or higher.
