Bollocking due over wireless ceiling mounted projector - help!

Hi all
I have been asked to organise purchase and install of the above so our Directors can present from their laptops without a cable running between.

Have installed projector with facility to make it wireless, but it doesn't connect with laptop!

I will get such a bollocking if not working-please tell me, does laptop need inbuilt wireless to work as well? If it doesn't have this, how the hell can I get it to work?!

Thanks for reading my tedious little problem

At a guess I would say there needs to be software on the laptop which hunts out the ip address of the projector on the network. Both laptop and projector I guess need to be on the same network.

Could I suggest posting in Geeky Stuff. Include details about the projector and also the laptop (such as operating system being used) and maybe someone may have set up that particular projector or one from the same manufacturer before.

There must have been an instruction book that came with the projector? Confused I would start off by attaching a laptop with a wire so you can at least see what the settings on the projector are, and going from there. But yes, the laptop will need to be able to connect wirelessly - if your directors are so daft they've asked for a something their own bloody laptops can't do, I don't think you need to feel too bad on your own account!

Thanks nanny nick! I think you might be right! There was a cd with the pack but the engineers insisted only the USB stick was needed to make a connection. However, as it is an old laptop, perhaps it needs the actual software on there?
Thanks again

Thank you tribpot, no doubt I will be held responsible!
Might it work with a 3G card if laptop not wireless?
Thanks

Do you have a laptop with wireless capability that you can try?

You don't need a 3g card, buy you can buy usb dongles that will make it wireless
