Didn't know where to post this really but have recently changed jobs. The babies have gone back to nursery. I rang and informed them of all the changes and today got the paperwork back from them. When I checked through there was something that they hadn't changed so asked whether that would effect whether I get the working element of the tax credits.

So basically she began to do a calculation and we got to the bit about how many hours I work and I said 15 to which she said oh well your not entitled to child care costs as you don't work 16 hours, and when I checked the form I saw that they had indeed awarded me nil for child care costs. I am absolutly stunned, We don't have family anywhere near who can look after them so have no option but to send them to nursery.

I can't afford to work if they dont help out but don't want to give up a job that I am loving.

is there any way around this.
I am going to ring Human resources tomorrow to see if they can provide an answer but apart from lying what can I do?

lwtg all i know for a fact is that their computer systems cannot handle more than one change at a time

well they changed the child care element but not income - rubbish or what! Neither did they take the company car off.

You are only entitled to childcare if you (both) work at least 16 hrs

The only way round it is to work 16hrs

so if work only offer you 15 hrs what are you supposed to do - not work i guess, thats really encouraging mums back into work isn't it. not.

Right problem solved work have granted me the extra hour a week.

So now i need to phone them to
1)change the hours i work
2) to change my husbands address to the same as mine because obviously that doesn't equate with them unless I actually tell them that he moved with me.
3) to take company car off as we don't have it anymore
4) to take off furnishing allowance as we dont have that any more.

Now then can i do this all on one day ringing them at 4 different times or do i have to do one change a day
