Hi all.
I am currently a staff nurse on maternity leave and I have been very lucky, I have managed to get an interview for a Student Health Visitor Post tomorrow. Has anyone any advice they can give me for the actual interview? I am stressing as it is something I have wanted to do for a long time! I have send by little man over to his nans this afternoon so I can concentrate, I have just been getting more stressed as the day goes on. I have been preparing for the interview for some time but I'm worried my nerves will ruin it for me! Any advice or tips would be great. Thank you.

Hi Samuel. I know exactly how you feel. The literacy was really strange-and I found it quite difficult, especially as its normally my strong Point. The people I spoke to on the way out felt the same way-so it was obviously the same for quite a lot of us. I think the pass mark on literacy is 14 and numeracy is 11- so fingers crossedsmile I Sat the Greenwich num/lit a few months ago and passed. It was very similar-I even think the literacy journal excerpt was the same-so dont know why it seemed much more difficult this time?? I think I had to leave abt 3 questions before doing the creative writing bit-and even then I think I only got to about 15 linessad((

Karamel now you got me really worried. What creative writing bit are you referring to. I must have completely flunked it. God have mercy on me.

Sorry samuel, didnt mean to get you in a panic-im just talking about the first part of the literacy test-where you are asked to describe a dream holiday you are about to take and all the things you're planning to do?

I had my literacy test last week and agree it was bloody hard! What exactly are the minimum marks needed for each?

Karamel Tue 16-Jul-13 18:32:20

According to the LD website-passmarks in 2012 were 11/15 numeracy 14/20 literacy..im assuming 2012 its the same..or hopefully less lol

Gave it my best and had hoped fate would take care of the rest. The best well deserved takes longer to shine.

Karamel Fri 19-Jul-13 20:49:14

Zek99 Mon 22-Jul-13 17:06:13

Lou56 Mon 22-Jul-13 20:37:34

Lou56 Tue 23-Jul-13 17:11:00

Well done Karamel - me too!

Karamel Tue 23-Jul-13 17:19:58

Thanks Lou-and congrats to yousmile tbh I thought I'd messed up the literacy, but I suppose you never know lool

Lou56 Tue 23-Jul-13 18:47:48

So did I! Never ever expected to pass when I came out of there!!

Karamel Tue 23-Jul-13 19:59:47

Its funny how they're doing the interviews though, because although you may pass the test, they still have to go back and check your application form again before offering an interview? ?

Lou56 Tue 23-Jul-13 20:01:59

Yeah I don't really get the point in that? Why short list in the first place and then have someone pass the test to then go back to the start again?!

Karamel Tue 23-Jul-13 22:02:01

Strange isn't it?...I wonder if anyone didn't pass the test? Cos if I got through, everyone must've lol. But jokes aside, it was not easy, and I really hope everyone on here who is still waiting for results passed, because a lot of us really need this opportunity....
Btw I emailed the deanery re my results and got a reply the next day..so if you're still waiting maybe give that a try :-)

Lou56 Tue 23-Jul-13 22:26:09

I Know a few people on the Facebook group didn't get through and they were emailed on Friday about it. Just hope it works out for us all!

Funkymadhouse Tue 23-Jul-13 23:14:32

Please tell me you're not still waiting on whether you have a place or not sweetpie123???? :-O
