World war 2 street party......Dd has to dress up

Just says Knee length dress, school shoes, long sock, ribbons or bonnet.

I'm assuming it is a celebration party to mark the end of the war. So does tha mean fancy knee length dress or am I barking up the wrong tree ??

Any ideas ?? DD doesn't have any long dresses.

Nope, think shirt dress type affair. Could she borrow a doctored one of yours? (safety pins are very useful!)

Hmmm I don't own a dress either.

Shirt dress !!!!! Not sure I know what you mean.

Why is it that my kids have several boxes of dressing up clothes over flowing but we never have what we actually need.

Have you ever seen Foyles war? You're looking at that sort of thing! If I was any good at links I'd pop one for the BBC site in here, go to kids and WWII. You should get someimages that would help! Charity shops can be good for this sort of thing.

Thanks, have just found lots of piccies of the exact type of thing I need.

All I need to do now is make one. Might try the charity shops tommorow and see if there is anything i can alter.
