East Dulwich primaries - advice needed!

Hello
I'm moving to East Dulwich this summer with DD aged 6. Would really love some advice/inside info on the primary schools - not the church ones, and particularly Heber and Goodrich. Have visited both, read the ofsteds, league tables etc but would be so helpful to have some parents' opinions. DD is very anxious about the move (from Brighton) and so I am very keen to get it as right as possible.
Thankyou!
Anna

Hi Anna- replied on the other thread. Basically think both are pretty good! Good luck with the move.

We're moving down the road from Goodrich next month (I hope!) and my friends' kids go there and they really like it. Intend ds and eventually dd to go there. Heber is also on the up and considered to be good now.

Heber has about 300 pupils so is much smaller than Goodrich (approx 700)

Goodrich has historically been the school to try to get into, and has a small catchment area, but I really think that Heber is very much improved and improving, there's lots of money going into playground development and they've just had their refurbished theatre opened by Susannah George (they also have links with the Globe theatre).

Heber's head and deputy head both very good as are the teaching staff .. young, enthusiastic and involved. Goodrich has always had good teaching staff and I believe their head is up for retirement this year so will be an influx of new blood soon

Goodrich has always had a good rep. Heber's is very much developing

really I don't think you could go wrong with either school. You could also consider Dog Kennel Hill (but don't know much about that one apart from the fact that it has a good garden)

If not I know you have a good chance of getting into Fairlawn,in Honor Oak.
My son is in the final year there. It is a brilliant school with great league tables. The Head there is brilliant and very helpful.
I know parents that have taken their kids out of east Dulwich schools as they werent happy and have gone to Fairlawn.i dont know enough about Goodrich unfortuntely.I have heard either really positive things or stories of bullying. But that was a few years ago.
