Prep schools in Devon?

My DDs and I are uprooting from NW London to be closer to my parents in Devon. DD's are ages 2 and 5. They currently attend a prep and pre-prep in NW London. Anybody know of any good preps/ pre-preps in Devon? I don't mind whether it's co-ed or single sex, although I did go co-ed and loved it! Both girls have had an unstable home life (ExDH walked out on us to go back to his family in Iran, DD1 is very emotionally unsettled) so good pastoral care is important. Also, an ethnically diverse prep/pre-prep would be nice but this isn't essential. Throw your recommendations this way!

Hello there,
Whereabouts in Devon are you thinking of moving to?

If you are near Exeter, Magdalen Court School is well worth a visit. I would recommend it sincerely - caring and able staff and the children's individual needs are always considered. Pastoral care and extra- curricular activities are well - planned, appropriate and really enjoyable. They also have good OFSTED reports and academic results - a family atmosphere prevails. Have a look at the website and give them a call. Good luck

Mount Kelly in Tavistock would be worth a look too. It has just merged win another prep school, but the education my son received there (when it was still Mount House) was superb. Beautiful grounds, excellent pastoral care a real 'free range' education.
