Farnham Common Schools

Hello! My husband's grandfather has recently moved out of his family home in Farnham Common, and offered it to us. We are considering the move, but aren't sure about schools. Does anyone have any particular favourites? State school or private? We are currently at an Outstanding faith school in London, so are willing to look at a wide range of options. Any other remarks welcome, including how easy it is to make friends, etc. Our girls are 9, 7 and 4.5, ie years 5, 3 and Reception in the autumn. Thanks!

FC infant and juniors both v desirable and sought after. Would put you in Bucks 11 plus area which is a disadvantage if your child is one of the many who should pass but don't (I taught year 6 in Bucks for long enough to be rather cynical about it). Often FC children have gone to Chalfont Community College - a very good option - but you'd need to check if you'd still get in from there.

Davenies Beaconsfield is private and very popular and there is Dair House which my DS went to and it was lovely up to the age of 7. Then there is Caldicott if you want to go down the boarding route. Did look at FC Primary School and wasn't that impressed. Head was not great although not sure if she is still there.

It is a huge battle to get into the grammars. Don't let anyone tell you it isn't and that their kids got in with no tutoring and assistance. They are fibbing....

The op has girls hand cream! Davenies and Caldicott are boys only. There is Gayhurst or Maltmans fairly locally. FC does have a good rep but I'm not sure they'd have 3 places for September.
