Age 8 DD doesn't retain information

Hi, just wondering if this is normal or not?
DD2 is doing fine at school (yr3) but me and DH are worrying about her as she seems to just memorise things rather than learn them and then a month later has no recollection! For example times tables and spellings, she learns them fairly easily for her test each Monday but a few weeks later it is as if she has never learnt them. She learned to tell the time for her yr2 SATS but now is clueless. I could go on. Should I get her assessed? If so, how? Am happy to pay for an independent assessment.

Bumping, my dd, also yr 3 but still 7 until the summer, does just the same, spellings, tables and telling the time too!

Dd finds it hard to retain some information, especially to do with spellings or sequencing (eg tables), she's mildly dyslexic. Even now in year 5 she doesn't know all her tables, she'll learn a specific table and then forget it. We just repeat all the time and try various different ways to learn. It might be worth getting your dd tested just for piece of mind, have you spoken to the school?
