I found this very interesting to read, "Annaliese Briggs, 27, leaves job at Pimlico primary after six months to 'pursue other opportunities in primary education''

"Sources close to the academy say she was finding it difficult to cope with the workload."

Speaks volumes by itself.

Read the op and then this.

I think I'd rather have schools run by bureaucrats rather than complete amateurs.

Just read the BBC story. Amazing. How on earth did she think she was up to the job? I was full of it aged 27 but I like to think I would have known better.

"other interests in primary education' what like becoming an actual classroom teacher and working her way up like everyone else??

So arrogant to assume you can just walk in and know how to run a school...

'West End Extra understands another classroom teacher – who along with Ms Briggs constituted the entire teaching staff at the new primary – has also stepped down.'

I feel sorry for the children who will now have supply teachers and a deputy borrowed from another school.

Wow, muminlondon, so the only other teacher there also quit??! One month in they quit and also one teacher for 60 pupils? And some people are saying that we don't have the children's best interests at heart when striking. I will do anything I can to try and stop this happening again to our childrens' education.

I don't know how it happened that (Conservative party donor) John Nash and his wife were handed first Pimlico Academy by Westminster Council then two primaries by this (Conservative) government. But are co-chair of governors at the secondary, and his wife is chair at the primary, so they are personally responsible for appointing her and for the welfare of the children and staff at the school.

But now he has been made a lord and appointed Schools minister, he is responsible for, er, free schools and academies. He certainly wrote a stern letter to the governors of Al-Madinah School so maybe he'll have to write another stern one to his wife.

It's a travesty. It really is. I hope everyone involved is ashamed of themselves. It makes me fume. Those poor kids.
