Harrodian

Are there any Harrodian families out there? We love this school. But DD is very academic and just about everyone is saying she would do better to go to Latymer. It's very hard to go against the tide. When everyone is saying send her to Latymer.

Would love to hear what peoples positive and negative experiences are at Harrodian, and what kind of student it serves best.

If you search harrodian (top right of this page) you'll find a few threads about the school.

Except that they're all several years old. I think the newest one is from 09.

Sorry - you're right. I knew I'd seen something recently but now see that the final posts were recent but that the threads started years ago.

My son is at the Harrodian in Year 7, he started last September. My friend has a daughter who got into Latymer and the Harrodian two years ago and went with the Harrodian. She may talk to you - PM me your email address, and I will forward it to her.

I have a number of friends who are very happy with the junior school.

I am told that at senior school it can get a bit "starry" - with children who are also models, some very extravagant parties.

The Harrodian is certainly behind Latymer in the League tables, but I don't think that means a bright child couldn't do well. Three to Cambridge from 2012 leavers (online) and most appear to go on to respectable universities and courses. Perhaps you could try it , if it is her preference, and then consider changing for sixth form if it doesn't seem academic enough at that point.

I have 2 children at Harrodian. It is now very academic and hard to get into. This means it attracts top students. We are very happy there. The kids are very happy too and I like the school because the pastoral care is great and it is a good all round school. It celebrates all kinds of children as long as they put the effort in and the opportunities are enormous.
