DS was fine - although he has been full time in nursery so didn't think there was going to be a problem. I was a bit sniffy walking back out of the gate though !
I didn't see many tears there this morning.

Thanks for your replies.

Ds1 has been to nursery too but not the school one so the environment is unfamiliar and he doesn't know anyone. I know he'll be fine when he settles but it's the initial going in tomorrow I'mworried about!!

By the way Whizzz - I never thanked you for the Chester Zoo ticket! Thank you so much!

  • he couldn't wait to get in the door, and only turned round and waved because the headmistress and his class teacher were encouraging them all to wave to us

He was just as bad at nursery - I wasn't even allowed to step into the main nursery room before he turned round, waved and said goodbye

WAAAAAAAAH

I kind of wish he was - he's never been fussed about me leaving him places - and his brother is even worse.

At least when he was younger DS1 did used to be a little shy of new people/surroundings and took 1/2hrs or so to 'settle' (no crying just very quiet and would't join in).

DS2 just launches himself in there without any fear LOL.

My dd started reception this morning and she was fine.
She has just moved up a room though as she started nursery there last year, that was only part time though.
I had all the tears then after a 2/3 day novelty period so i'm hoping she'll not do that again!

Hope yopur little boy is o.k Skate.
I was sat crying last night thinking i was only going to see dd a few hours a day

Not listening

Not listening

He is supposed to start tomorrow, just 10 of them and all of them on Thurday, but I am going to keep him home, he loves his Mummy and his Mummy loves him.

We don't need anyone else.

Rocks back and forth manically, whilst observing the tumbleweed...................

dd due to start on Monday. She is looking forward to but has been to the nursery attached to the school for the past year so not too much of a change.

I can empathise, QoQ, DD1 skipped into the classroom and found her friends, and I had to demand a kiss!

It was a relief though, as she never settled at nursery, though she loved pre school.

She wasn't as enthusiastic today.

In all seriousness, DS will do that tomorrow.

He knows his teacher from church therefore semi-socially, he walked up to her at his induction afternoon and said "Hello Mrs X" how are you, he had to be prompted to say goodbye, which in all seriousness I know is a good thing.

Ds1 started today - in spite of insisting as recently as Sunday that he was not going to school, ever, he went in ok and waved goodbye. Went to collect him at 12 (he's doing half days until January) and he was upset that he couldn't take his PE kit home again (or more likely the new Spiderman bag it was in.) By the time this had developed in a fully blown tantrum the teacher and classroom assistant had disappeared off to lunch with the rest of the class so I couldn't retrieve it anyway and had to carry him bodily to the car....

Let's hope that tomorrow goes more smoothly!

Got DS up got him dressed, and then...............

I am not wearing those shoes, they are too strong, I want my sandals, I am defny (sic) not wearing socks. WTF

Had to force them on him and then tell him I was going to the post office and it was a shame he couldn't come, because he had no shoes on.

If I come with you, can I have jelly tots ???

Yes Darling (You can have the whole fecking shop)

Anything to get him out the door in shoes and socks.

DH was right he was welded into those sandals.

LOL LGJ!!

Ds1 was not too bad - he def didn't want the uniform on and he was not keen on his shirt tucked in but he was fine in the end and went into school no bother. Phew!

I'm a bit worried about how he'll be when he comes out -whether he's liked it or not. In some ways the 2nd day could be worse once they know what it's like!!

I'm picking him up at 3.30 and then he's got an hour gymnastic class at 4pm - he's going to be beside himself with exhaustion!!

I was tearful last night LIZS but this morning was so manic getting all 3 kids ready and out of the house that I didn't have time to think about it! No tears at the gate!

He was fine, I didn't cry in front of him, I filled up in the car, but held it together, got in the front door and started blubbing, the girl from across the road, had a starter this morning, so we blubbed into our coffees together.

Her husband, as men often are with these things, was a tad bemused by two weeping women.

He had taken a half day, as he considered it to be her first day, he was the only Dad

Most of the Dad's DH included will be there tomorrow, when the whole class are starting together.

Anyway I digress, he must have empathised with us, because he took special orders for coffee.

Espresso for me

Cappaucino(sp) Don't drink it, so can't spell it for Jane.

And he did tea for himself.

Tomorrow will be worse.

Starts tommorow, how will it be? Who knows, if anyones child is going to hate it should be mine as he sensitivity personified.

We went to buy his school uniform there this morning which meant we got to wander around and his teacher was there so we went in to say hello. Think the most difficult thing is going to be getting him to try his school uniform on.

Oh yes and DP away until 24 September - so fun and games all round

DS was absolutely fine. In fact the only tears I spotted were from one of the Mums - I saved mine for Sunday night laid on the settee - and no DH didn't get it. DS is finding it tiring though despite day nursery. He's OK until about an hour after he's left (still on a high) but then gets grumpy.
