I have bid on something and it doesn't meet the reserve the seller has set

can they see my maximum bid and reduce their reserve to sell it to me.

I ask because there are 9 hours to go on the auction and I'm having second thoughts so was relieved when it didn't reach the reserve price

Im not sure if they can see you bid, but they cant reduce the reserve price. They may offer it to you as a 2nd chance offer after the auction ends, but you can just refuse that.

They also cant have a reserve less than £50, so if your bid was under that, you are ok anyway.

great thanks for that

I was worried that they could reduce the reserve up til the last moment

bid in haste, repent at leisure will be my motto. Will not be bidding before reading feedback from now on.

no, mines the highest bid but doesn't meet the reserve - over a hundred quid
