eBay

I think I should report this seller - what would you do?

Bought an item on BIN on 25th April. Paid £10 postage (which is probably relatively reasonable for such a heavy item).

Still not had the item.

I have emailed 4 times before I got a reply. When I did get a reply it came within a few hours after I threatened to report him. He said item had been sent via TNT and he would get me a tracking number by lunchtime that day. That was about 5-6 days ago I think. I have emailed him once since to see if he has the tracking number but had no response.

His 100% feedback (128) has several comments that items took 'a fair while' to arrive yet they still left a positive.

tbh I've had enough of being messed about and think the time has come to report as an unreceived item. If he can't be bothered to post something why list it in the first place ?? ARRGHHHHH.

Opinions please so I can check I am not acting like a heavily pregnant hormonal manaic (which is what I am at the moment).

Thanks

If you're not bothered if he leaves you negative feedback as well, then report him.

he can't leave a neg for me anymore though can he? Thats why I want to make sure I'm being fair. The new FB system is stupid IMO.

Coming from the UK.

Sellers can't do that any more, GGirl.

Report it, you can always close dispute if item arrives, in the meantime it might give him a kick up the arse.

He's taking the mickey really. Duisputes can be done quite calmly, just state you have opened it as a precaution, be very polite and clear. It's not your problem, he needs to sort it out.

Cancel dispute only after you've received refund or item - can't re open once closed.

I don't think he can leave neg. feedback for you now - rules have changed.

I think it is far too long to wait for an item to be honest. You've given him enough chances.

If you paid by Paypal you only have a month to start a dispute so don't leave it too long

right then! We did pay by paypal so will start a dispute this evening. I think it is the only way I'm going to get things sorted - what a PITA!

Thanks for all the replies.

I did this after seller did not respond except saying he had posted it.
paypal refunded my entire payment incl postage it took about 3 weeks. Onus is on seller to ensure and insure delivery.

OK, so I have opened a paypal dispute but it says the seller and I have 20 days to resolve the issue or escalate it to a claim.

Now I guess I have to decide at what point I decide to change it to a claim he's hardly the most communicative chap on ebay!

Argghhhh!

You can choose the option 'I no longer wish to communicate with the seller' and that escalates it. I'd not bother waiting any longer, he's clearly not going to reply. Just let paypal do it, they mostly come down in the buyer's favour ime.

Ask for a refund (through the dispute) if he has no intentions of sending the item. This usually gives them another kick up the bum as most seelers don't like to refund.

And report the item as not received with Ebay too.

I opened a dispute a couple of days ago. Send him a message via the dispute console, heard nothing back so thought 'sod you' and escalated it to a claim. Will do the ebay bit now
