Don't know much about ebay, but surely there is a way to edit your listing?

Yuo can if you go into my ebay, Items I'm selling, and click on your item 0 it will give you the option to revise your listing - so simply add to it. I'm not an expert on ebay, but I know you can do this.

you cant revise the description or end it if there are less than 12 hours to go and you have bids on the item

Don't panic. What you do is email your bidders. You tell them you've realised it's not as described and then you end the auction.
You then relist (it's free I think) and let them know the new item number.

Either that or you can continue with the auction, then email the winner explaining and asking if they still want it - offer a discount if you like - it's up to you.

I believe you are able as seller to cancel bids on their behalf if they ask you to, not sure how, but you could also offer to do this.

Don't shill. The honest way is better!
People are very unlikely to neg you if you apologise and explain. If they do they are nasty!
You click on 'help' and search for 'end listing early' then it will give you a link to the form, fill it in and it's done. No neg, no winners, no probs.

argghh, have figured out how to cancel bids so they are all gone but it wont let me end it. do you think it needs a while for it to realise the bids have gone?

No, you have to go to the 'end listing early' form.
Have you tried that?

Ooh. Sorry to be useless
I never knew they didn't let you end listings.
Hope it gets sorted anyway.

I would add to the description..

Please do not bid, error in descriptiopn, item not for sale at current time.

Or something like that. It will add it at the bottom. Do it big and bold!

Less chance of neg fb then. Good luck!
