Mould on a "NEW" Item?

Bought a pushchair on ebay listed as new Seller place this in the listing

This Pushchair is not brand new but it has never been used.

It was left in storage and nearly forgotten.(but on the ebay description there is only a choice of: New or Used)

During the storage, the 'doubles seat' which adapts the pushchair to carry two children, 2 clip-on-belts to make the seat higher or lower, the rain cover, and the bumper bar have been misplaced and cannot be found.

The good news is that the chassis is in an excellent condition and the misplaced parts are very easy to replace at a very reasonable price.

After some complication over me arranging a courier and then him going back on it and Then I had to pay him an extra £30 for him to send it (so I'm out the courier too!)

IT arrived this morning.

It has mould on the seat unit and hood and some obvious normal wear through useage.

Can I ask for a refund? I would never have paid the price I did for it had I known it had mould and dirt stains on it.

I feel throughly ripped off!

Should I e-mail seller to say I am unhappy and ask for a refund?

yes, ask for a refund.
problem is you will need to return it at your expense.
If they don't refund you can open a dispute and paypal will refund you (once you can prove it has been returned)

I'd go through paypal they worked for me I got my money back. I would email first though to give them chance to refund. Then next email mention paypal dispute action.

Hows this sound?

Hello,

Item arrived this morning. I'm sorry to say I am unhappy and dissapointed with it.

You failed to mention that it had been used (it was very obvious it had been used due to the scratches on the wheels and frame) and the fabrics are covered in mould, mildew and dirt. I would have to replace these too as the stains will not come out.

Are you willing to offer a refund on return of the pushchair or a partical refund towards the cost of replacing the fabrics?

Regards

I'm trying to be polite. I would rather keep and replace the fabrics as I've already forked out £70 on a doubles seat and basket.

I'm in such a pickle

is it a synthetic type of material (what buggy is it) mould and mildew remover will clean up most fabrics without damaging/fading?

Sellers will mostly want to avoid negative feedback, so good luck.
