Bid and won a local pick up only item. Was happy with the price and happy to collect as not too far away.
Seller only responded to messages once a day so hard to communicate but figured no easy internet access/busy etc.
Arranged to collect today, got the address. Arrived 5 minutes early, no answer. Sat and waited 20 mins just incase running late.
Neighbour comes out and tells me they're away for the weekend as their mum has been round last night to check on house but no one due today Hmm
So, what do I do now? That's if she gets in touch again.
I'm not too happy to do the journey again especially if I can't trust them to be in.
I wouldn't have minded if she said they were away, can I come next week but I'm a bit miffed at this.
So I'm guessing options are 1) ask for discount if have to do return journey 20 miles round trip 2) ask her to post and cover cost 3) ask her to deliver.
How reasonable are these given the situation?
Any other advice welcome, thanks.

or report as a non performing seller and leave a neg?

I'll do that if she doesn't contact me but I really would like the item! So I guess wait and see what she says (if she does).

To add insult to injury I've just had a message from eBay asking me to pay! Shock

Please don't pay. Collection on items should be cash on collection. I would report seller and neg. Even if an emergency came up, the seller still should have contacted you.

Are you sure you went to the correct house? Eg 1, Main Road may be an address in several suburbs of a town.

Yes I double checked address.
She's messaged me to say her mum was meant to be there but she got delayed, can I go back now.
Don't really want to make another 20mile round trip if I'm honest.
How do I stand for asking her to discount/post/deliver? Any ideas?

you can ask for a discount but nobody will force her to give it to you - why couldn't she post it to begin with. Is it a big item?

It's not huge, she could have posted but I guess didn't want the hassle. I'll ask, she can only say no!
