Hi, im wondering whether anyone would kindly offer me some advice on this please?

I bought a fancy dress ladies costume from ebay. In the picture the dress reaches the model's knees. Anyway, the dress arrived and it's so short it's more like a top than a dress - there's no way I could've worn it as a dress without indecently exposing myself! And I'm only 5"4 so not exactly tall. It's also completely see through although it isn't in the picture! It's a really misleading picture and there's no way I can wear it out (since gone to a shop and purchased another costume).

My problem is that the costume was inside a sealed packet so in all fairness to the seller they wouldn't have know what they were selling - they were just using the information and picture on the front of the packet.

It's a smiffy's costume, so a well known, trusted make (or so I thought).

Does anyone know where I stand on this. If I can't return it I'm goig to be seriously out of pocket. Bit the buyer could argue that they were using the information smiffy's had provided?

Many thanks in advance.

just contact the seller and say it isn't as described - the picture clearly isn't accurate.

You may have to return tracked at your expense, try Hermes for that, but you will get a full refund of item and p&p.

Sounds like seller is genuine and the issue is with the original company rather than the seller? Contact the seller they may be willing to provide a refund if you return it

If you bought the item BIN then you have 14 days (at least might even be longer now) to return the item as long as it is unworn. Contact seller using "other" option when you select a question (otherwise you will open a case against them which you might not need to do) explain the item was very short and not as you thought it would be and ask to return it. Hopefully they will be professional and agree then the worst you can be out is return postage (but send signed for/tracked). They may even refund your return p&p. If the seller refuses then open a not as described case which basically means they will have to refund anyway. If the seller is a business I expect they will be happy to do a return especially if you have made contact without opening a SNAD case.
