postage with royal mail to USA

had a question from person in USA. would cost Â£2.80 to post in UK. any idea how much to USA.

There's a calculator on the Royal Mail website where you can put in weight and dimensions and it will give you a price.

I got a quote and emailed the person. she has won the auction but her address is in England.

am I right in understanding that you should only send to address that you are sent by ebay.

I have sent abroad before but the address is correct.

Yes only send to the address that you get via eBay - she should have changed the address to the USA one before paying. Maybe she has made her own arrangements to forward on to the USA. Might be worthwhile sending her a message to confirm you are shipping to the UK address before you actually post.

Also did your auction allow international shipping. I don't routinely sell abroad and when I do agree to I have to amend my listing and add the correct destination country to allow the international buyer to be able to bid or buy.

I'm not sure. I have sent abroad before but usually people ask me first if I will ship. I don't mind as long as it is the address on the pay pal.

She did ask and I said I would but I didn't realise it wasn't the same address shown. I have done an invoice before at my end I think and changed the postage.

I could offer to post it the address which isn't far away from me and then someone else will have to ship it otherwise if she amends address I will send it.

I get a bad feeling. She said she would take responsibility if it goes missing but I'm not convinced. I reckon I could lose money on this one if I don't follow the protocol.

she hasn't paid yet. Just the info from ebay as to who has won the auction with the English address.

yes only send to the address given when they pay - and send tracked if you are concerned.

In the end I had a chat to ebay and cancelled the transaction. It made me wonder why she didn't change her address if she was living there and it all seemed such a hassle
