Item just ended, clearly stated cash on collection, they've paid immediately by paypal.
So, do I simply refund them? What about charges? What happens to them? Obviously paypal have taken their cut so what happens to that?
Thanks.

yes you refund them in full - paypal charges are then cancelled.

You will have to send a request to the buyer to cancel the transaction to get your fv fees back if they can't collect item.

Need to contact them to say that you much prefer to receive cash and is that ok?

If they say yes then fine, refund, arrange for collection. Paypal will keep 20p.

They have the Right to insist on using paypal, though. If you refuse then you might get reported as a non-performing seller.

If you really didn't want PayPal payment then you should have removed that option from the listing.

I had a seller get snooty with me as I paid through PayPal when they had said preferred cash on collected.
They may have money on there PayPal account so prefer to pay that way.
You really need to be more specific with listings of that's what you want.

Ebay policy says that sellers MUST offer paypal, MigGrill. It's impossible not to.

sellers have no protection if paid via paypal and collected - ebay will never tell sellers of that pitfall as they own paypal and want the fees. Cash on collection or no sale is the only way - regardless of what ebay promote.

Migril, you don't get an option to remove paypal and it clearly states in my listing to pay cash on collection. If the buyer pays by paypal and collects, they could report you to ebay later on saying you've refused to let them collect. Unless you've online proof of posting you dont have a leg to stand on.

Thank you all so much for your help. Spoken to buyer, refunded and arranged collection (with cash!).
Thanks again.

It's irritating now that pp keep a small amount now so if it were a low value item I would bear that in mind and take the risk. Most people are genuine.

A more valuable item I would definitely refund and cash only.
