eBay

as a buyer do you like seeing a dress on a model or more neutral?

When I browse for a dress or other clothing some sellers show the dress on a person especially vintage items. These models seem to have varying degrees of success. Some look quite good and you can get an idea of the dress, others can be a bit eek. What do you prefer - hangers, dummy, plain background, outside in a garden? I do like things to be fairly nicely shown but I don't like it when there is only a photo of a "celebrity" wearing a dress but not the actual item for sale. Just wanted to have a chat with other ebayers about your likes and dislikes when looking.

tailor's dummy plain background - and I want a pic of the actual item, not a generic photo of someone else wearing what is possibly a totally different item.

I am not that keen when the item is shown in a messy room but I might still bid if the item is something I really want. What do you think of those really flowery listings with loads of text and photos from movies of people in the films wearing similar clothes? They seem to sell things at a high price BIN but do seem a bit waffly to me.

photos of people wearing similar clothes when they are flogging primarni? - nope, will hit the back button, same with migraine inducing flowery listings - awful.

I hate seeing photos of people wearing clothes they are selling on ebay .I always try to get in background shots of my interior though.

I do appreciate a nice wallpaper in the background and I prefer seeing things hung up than on the floor. I have seen a few dodgy looking "models" which usually put me right off! I did get a dummy thing that hangs up which is quite good for showing clothes.
