My feedback has just dropped.....

But I haven't received a negative!

It has definitely dropped. I have a number of internet windows open, and on the ones I haven't refreshed it clearly states a number 1 higher than the feedback page.

Any ideas?

Mine has just dropped today as well - Ebay removed a positive rating that was a negative comment.
I didn't report it myself as it was left overnight and I'd only just seen it before it disappeared.
I don't know how it came to their attention and if I wasn't logged on this morning I would never have known.

By feedback, do you mean the number in brackets after your eBay name? If so, that does show total feedback received, not just the last 12 months. As BreakOutTheKaraoke says, it sounds as if feedback from a buyer or seller has been removed.

I've gone back 3 or 4 months and can't find anything - would they totally remove it or would they leave some sort of marker there?

if the number in brackets was 100 but 40 of that was items bought or sold in MAy 2012 as of 1st june the number would be 60 as it is only ppast 12 months that count the comments will still be in history

That doesn't make sense. So your feedback score is only what you have sold in the past year?

I thought feedback was your feedback for your whole Ebay life - otherwise, people who only buy/sell occasionally would have a zero most of the time.

I'm pretty sure it is for the whole of your eBay life (the number in brackets) as mine for 12 months would be a lot lower than the amount I've built up over 10 years or so.

I thought the percentage was for the last 12 months so the negative I had a few years ago hasn't been included for a while.

the number visible is there for a year but the whole number stays the same, if that makes sense. So if you have a neg or neut they vanish after a year.

actually that doesn't make sense - the percentage is there for a year, so a neg or neut won't affect the percentage after 12 months - the overall number shouldn't change.

Feedback is there for life not just a year, I have 30844 feedback and it is certainly not from a 12 month period.

Someone may have asked for a feedback to be removed, which would lower the number.

I've seen on other people's feedback comments without a positive or negative - i.e. the comment stays but is not included in your total. But I'm sure there is usually an Ebay comment alongside it.

So if it's been removed, how long ago could it have been? Lifetime of the feedback, or past 90 days etc?
