eBay

Opened a dispute, seller says return but hasn't given any address details...

I bought a BN buggy last week from a business seller. The description led me to believe that there was a second seat included in the listing but when I received it only the main buggy was in the box.

I emailed the seller asking when I'd receive the second seat. After 24hrs and no reply I opened a 'not as described' case, at which point the seller replied telling me the listing was just for the buggy and this was, in their opinion, obvious from their description - there are at least four sentences in the description that made me believe the second seat was included. They offered to sell me the extra seat for £85 or return for a full refund so I asked to return it and who would be responsible for the return costs.

Haven't heard from them again (24hrs ago).

I'm sure I'm just being impatient but I'd really like to just get rid of it now and have my money back.

Can ebay give me their return address? Should I escalate the case and do I have to wait to do this?

their address will be on the listing if they are a business seller

ebay will give you the address once escalated - make sure you return with a signature fully insured.

Thanks. Yes, you're right, I've found their address now.

Any suggestions for a courier? The one I normally use has closed down Sad. Needs to be insured up to £400.

Seller has said they'll pay for the return courier fees and that they'll organise their usual courier. I know about not letting a buyer arrange their own courier so am now wondering whether the same risk applies in this situation.

If I ask the seller for the tracking details before the item is collected, will that be enough proof for eBay to guarantee my refund?

All correspondence has been through the resolution centre so far.

yes you do need the tracking info - ask the courier or seller for it before the item leaves you.

trouble with them organising the courier is you don't know if they are going to turn up.

I'll ask the seller for the tracking number once it's booked.

Fingers crossed the courier does turn up...the box is rather large and taking up space Grin
