eBay

Why would she say this?

I am selling some premature clothes on Ebay - I rarely sell anything but was having a clearout. The potential buyer (based in Germany) has sent me lots of messages about postage costs and her premature baby born at 25 weeks and currently weighing just 2lb - Something didn't seem right with her messages and when I looked at her feedback it seems she has been buying absolutely loads of prem clothes for ages - I looked as far back as September 2011.

In my mind she has potentially started a business selling small baby clothes - if so, why on earth would she lie? Having a baby so small and poorly is just so upsetting and stressful and I cannot think why she may have made up this story - has anyone else had an experience like this?
Thanks

She may be trying to get the items cheaper with a sob story. I'd go with gut instinct and just sell them in an auction.

Probably hoping that sellers take pity and offer items for less because of her sob story. I'd call her on it - nobody in their right mind would wish to have a prem baby. explain that postage costs are what they are and that you are a 'no bartering' seller.

Yes Kate I thought that might be the case - just in such bad taste

She could be one of those with a 'reborn' doll baby. I've got a feeling they do premature sized ones. I think it's awful but clearly some people find it helpful.

Thank you doublecake - in my mind I was also wondering if there was a scam of some kind to come - she wanted to send me pictures on her private email address but I just kept my reply straight to the point of the items.
So odd, just feel really sad that someone would do this

Yes Singsong - I hadn't thought of that. The clothes were a huge range though - from 1lb up to 8lb.

I bet she makes those dolls to sell on and the cheaper she can get the clothing, the better her profit margins will be.I sold some of DD2's tiny clothes on ebay and a reborn doll maker bought them.Made me a bit shuddery as I find them creepy.
