How long does it take for a paypal refund to go through ?

Just a quick one, I have refunded somebody today, it left my paypal account immediately, I just clicked the refund button, how long should it take to get to the buyers account ? I assumed they would get it straight away,however they have said they haven't had it yet.

immediate, but if it was funded by bank transfer it can take a few days for the buyer to have access to the cash

if they click on the original payment in paypal it should show as refunded. It may have gone straight back to the card they paid with so not showing as a credit balance in paypal.

Brilliant, thanks a lot for your help, so if it isn't showing as a credit in her paypal she needs to check with her bank, thanks again.
