Sold a hat recently and it got lost in the post. Buyer emailed me to ask where it was. Waited till 3 weeks after posting, it didn't appear, so I refunded buyer along with a note.

Then she left me negative feedback saying 'I have no idea why the seller has refunded me' - wtf?!

Have asked ebay if negative feedback can be changed but they haven't got back to me. Have also emailed buyer to ask her to change her feedback but she hasn't got back to me wither. I had 100% feedback and am cross about this. Is there anything else I can do??

I had someone leave -ve feedback and when I questioned it they admitted it was a mistake. However it wasn't cancelled! So I messages them on a very regular basis sending them the link to click to remove it, and eventually they did it!

Don't know if that helps, and it was a few years ago so procedures may have changed, but thought I'd share the story!

Can you add your response to the feedback? When buying, I check feedback and if a reasonable response has been left, I ignore it as a random loon

I agree with queenofthepirates.

If someone has received an unusual negative, and the seller's response is dignified, I think, 'I'm with the Seller on this one!'

e.g...

Buyer - 'Will never use this seller again! Terrible and awful!!!! Don't know what's happening!!!!'
Seller: 'Full refund was offered. Still awaiting buyer's response, and will be happy to assist.'

...I think I would know which one is the likely nutter.

How spooky. I just got one of those 'unusual' feedbacks ths evening. She left a positive but says she is 'disappointed' and I suspect she has marked down my stars. Well, my description was extremely honest which is why she got an item for £1.50. No contact from her before the feedback. I would have refunded.

Oh God, I have forgotten how to find the feedback follow up response thing ... Can someone please remind me?!

Oh - found how to do it via Google. I think it must have changed since I last had to do it!

A similar thing happened to me about six months ago.

An insane buyer left negative (and also defamatory) feedback. eBay agreed to remove the comment as it was false, but couldn't remove the negative. I responded along the lines of something like "buyer didn't respond to communication, full refund offered".

I've just said, 'If you would like to contact me, I would be very happy to offer you a refund. Many thanks.'
