Hey all

Love eBay. Sold a fair bit and bought loads more. Until today I had almost 200 feedback, 100%.

We've changed computers so have listed a loads of games and accessories. So far so good. No issues etc

I list with detailed descriptions and always communicate well with buyers and sellers. I also refund buyers if postage is cheaper than quoted. I use my mobile for 99% of my transactions.

Find the mobile app great but sometimes doesn't give many options for postage etc.

I listed a computer game, manual and large accessory today with a BIN price but with the best offer option.

Due to the weight of the item I stated twice in item description that postage would £xxx and for the buyer to please wait to a further invoice that included the postage. The options available on the mobile app wouldn't let me go over £3 and the item would cost over double that. It was clearly described and easy to understand. I have seen many sellers do this for items like bundles because of the weight etc

A seller offered me a good price which I accepted, but didn't wait for an invoice.

I emailed explaining, they then started getting very rude and aggressive regarding the postage. They admitted that they didn't read it all properly.

I offered an immediate refund, remained polite at all times (I think)

They said that would like a refund as they weren't prepared to pay £xxx postage. Immediate refund was given but they continued to be rude and aggressive.

They have left negative feedback stating I refused to send which has now taken my 100% feedback down a whopping amount.

I have reported this as I feel this is extremely unfair and in called for especially as it was clearly stated and immediate refund (within 4 mins) was given.

Do I have any chance of getting it removed?

Many thanks Smile x

I sold an item today

But you are only allowed to charge £3 postage in that category - the buyer isn't at fault here are they?

I'm not sure, eBay are very tight in the allowances for certain categories. Sending a game would be fine for £3.00 but not for what I was selling which did clearly state in the description which the buyer admitted not reading properly.

No matter what I've listed lately it wouldn't let me go over £3.00 (don't know of it was an app issue as I could make it higher a few weeks ago)

I was more than accommodating with regards to communication and sending an immediate refund but genuinely don't think I deserved the verbal abuse or feedback given.

Very new to neg feedback so just a bit gutted

Regardless of whether the postage is 'fair' in your view, if Ebay say only £3 postage in this category, you have to decide whether to a) not list or b) reduce bundle size. You can't put £3 in P&P then say 'but I'm charging more' in the description.

Best way would be to increase the price you're prepared to accept to get around this.

Couldn't reduced bundle size as they are all connected to the same game so wouldn't have been worth it to do individually. That's why I put a small amount of postage but put in the description twice that postage would be more.

I think what I'm more annoyed about is the abusive emails I received after he admitted not reading the description.

Lesson learnt I suppose :( done so well to build up my feedback and feel its been ruined now

Thanks all x

you don't deserve abuse no, but I think the neg may be justified. You can't charge more for postage than ebay allow, you would have had to increase the start price of the item to include higher post costs. Collect plus may have been only £4 to send it anyway.

I recently sold a Skylanders starter kit and was able to put postage higher than £3 (£5). Not sure which category I listed it in though...I'll go and check. It might help you for future listings.

Just checked and it was listed in games/consoles, accessories/accessory bundles.

Sorry you got a neg. If all your other FB is good then I'm sure it won't affect future sales Smile.

I think that if you put other or courier in the postage box and detail the actual postage in the description you can get round this?

Packets over 1kg cannot be sent second class and cost more than the 4.75 you are allowed to put in some of the categories.
I would not have been rude if it was explained in the listing but some buyers stick to their guns iykwim ?

you can always select heavy bulky item instead of domestic flat rate

Don't absolutely quote me on this but I have an idea that if you get left a neg and it's clear that the neg leaver hasn't properly read the auction description then you may have grounds to get it removed. I always think 'Live Help' or chat or whatever it's called now is good in these circumstances else you're battling against a load of automated e mails. Certainly worth a try anyway.
