Possible error in listing - should I pull and relist?

Hello everyone

I cannot believe I am asking this but here goes - I am selling a Boden Mac which has been hanging in a cupboard for probably about 5 years. It has a flaw, which I have pointed out, but is otherwise in great nick. I am not sure I wore it much.

I listed it as a Rainy day mac, as that's what I thought it was called, but now a couple of people have asked if it has a hood, and I am worried that they think it is one of the oilcloth macs which Boden do (and probably do call rainy day Macs). It is actually an old fashioned Mac in that it is a coat with a treatment on the fabric rather than made of oilcloth type material.

It has bids so I can't change anything and it is endning tonight. I've just realised I can't pull the listing as it's too close to the end. Shall I just answer one of the questions publicly and say , look it's a proper mac rather than an oilcloth one, so don't bid if you want a wipe clean sort of one, or what? I am worried that my "Rainy Day" description might have suggested it is something that it is not.

Any suggestions gratefully received. Thanks so much.

I would end it and relist.

But with less than 12 hours to go you can't do that. You could pm me the item number if you like, I can bid on it for you to be the winning bidder, then you can end the listing to my bid now. Then you send a cancellation request to get your fvf returned and then you can relist correctly.

THank you so much. I realise by the questions that my listing is misleading so would rather get it right than risk a pissed off buyer.

I'll pm you now.

Thanks again.

Sorry, Fergoose, am I to end the listing now once you have bid or will you be the overall winner tonight and we can end it then? How should I do it - do I email you via Ebay and say there was an error in the listing and can we agree to cancel or do I need to do something else?

THanks for your help.

Fergoose, when I open the case, what should I give as the reason please? I know you will accept my offer to cancel, but what is the reason that I should give to Ebay?

Sorry to be needy - am quite new to all this!

Thanks

That isn't in the list - it's all buyer is unresponsive etc. Shall I just go for other? and explain why in the box?
