As there's so many questions about divorce I thought I'd share this and hope it helps. Had my initial visit a couple of weeks with my solicitor and here are their list of documents they'll ask for from both parties.

1, 3 months payslips
2, Your last P60
3, Bank Statements from all accounts for the last 12 months
4, Details of any savings with statements
5, Details of liabilities, loans and credit cards etc.
6, Mortgage redemption statement
7, Cash equivalent transfer value for pension
8, Schedule of monthly expenditure

Hope it helps!

Completely different to my solicitor who asked for photo I/d, utility bill and marriage certificate.

O, sorry, yes they did ask for proof of identity x 2 for the initial meeting. But this is what they asked for because we're going through a very amicable divorce so we're going down the collaborative route.

Ah quite different then from those of us who are messier situations with more than one solicitor.
