Taking first steps

Just starting to fill in form D8. I'm doing this without a solicitor, as neither of us can afford one and we are in agreement ( so far ) about all the arrangements.
We have been living seperately for just over two years so I am filing on grounds of desertion.
I'm going to send the form off with the court fee.
I just would like to know; when STBX sees the papers in front of him, in black and white so to speak; there is a slim possibility that reality hits home and he decides he doesn't want to go through with it, and it no longer is an uncontested divorce- what happens then?
There are also grounds for unreasonable behaviour, but to make it easier on him, I was using desertion, as its easier to write.
I would be grateful for any answers.
Thank you.

You are ok with having separated for 2 years if he consents. If he doesn't then you will have to cite unreasonable behaviour or wait 5 years at which point he will not need to consent.
Hope he does the decent thing!
