Divorce/separation

How do I find out my soon to be ex-husband's national insurance number?

We split over two years ago - divorce petition has been sent to the court. In order to get a state pension forecast I need his nat. insurance number but don't want to ask him for it.

Does anyone know if there's another way to find out what it is?

TIA

Can your solicitor request it instead? You could ask his work but I'd doubt they'll tell you. Otherwise see if he's left any payslips or P60s - maybe in a mortgage file?

NHS cards also contain them (methinks)

Did you ever claim benefit jointly eg tax credit? Will be on the paper work.

Many thanks for the suggestions, I'm going to have a root around for paperwork.

I've googled but could only find some dodgy websites!

Why are you after his state pension? You are entitled to one yourself i'm quite sure???

Hi Riakin, I am entitled to one, but I've only paid 77% of the contributions necessary to get a full one. I can claim against ex's contributions to give me a full state pension - it won't affect his in any way but I need his NI number to claim.

And I found it .
