Hi I was hoping a lovely mumsnetter out there would know of the perfect place for five friends to have a nice christmassy day out with their 2 year old dc's. We are planning a little get together and would quite like it to have a cristmas feel to it but havnt really got many ideas of where to go.
BTW we are in west yorkshire.
Someone please help

Do you know if there are any theatres locally that do kids shows? We're in London and a bit spoilt for choice, but there is a great touring company called Oily Cart that do shows for this age. I'm taking my DD 3 and my DS 16 months to this show:

I think it's a magical thing to do at Christmas, and most theatres have nice cafes for a nice lunch before or after?

I'll google a bit for you and see what comes up.

thanks sycamore, that theatre group looks briliant. I have saved their website to my favourites for the future. Unfortunately nothing local by the looks of things but will keep them in mind for next year

It might be worth starting a thread specifically asking if any other MNetters know of good theatre for pre-schoolers in your area? I'm struggling with googling, but somewhere as vibrant as Leeds surely has to have something going on somewhere. I can see there is a children's theatre, but it seems like it's for children to perform in, rather than shows for kids, IYSWIM?

I can't recommend it highly enough as a proper christmassy day out. And to see their little faces if it's a good show - they're just bedazzled!

Have you got a steam train Santa Special anywhere near? They do presents for the DCs and mulled wine and mince pies for adults as a general thing.
