lol, my dp is a tough crusty type and i got him a teddy bear key ring with 'i love you' written on it for his birthday when dd was 7 months and he loves it! has it on his car keys and is dead proud of it.

small presents like cd's and books work well too. and get her to 'sign' the card herself, melts their hearts to see a little baby scrawl at the bottom!

Great ideas, but I literally mean no money. His big pressie is a 6 quid head torch! I am left with about a fiver to get him presents from her!

How about printing her foot print on some nice card and framing it for his desk or bedside table?

Ooh, McDreamy, I like that, I have some finger paints lurking around as well!

He's being so silly he's doing the 'I don't need a present, spend the money on food and booze' thing, but I'm sure if I don't get him a pressie he'll be a bit pissed off!

Footprint is a brilliant idea, also just a nice photo for his desk or wallet, if you have digital camera and can print it yourself (or nice friend you can e-mail it to who can print it)even cheaper than Boots

Although not £5 I did a mug with footprint on at one of those paint your own crockery places for my DH when my DS1 was 6 months and also coasters for the grandparents.

Try a 'paint your own' plates and stuff from Asda ather than one of those craft cafe type places for hand/foot prints
