Presents dilemma when godparents extremely generous

Hi
I'm managing to cut costs with food shopping eg learning to make meat go further by using it less or for flavour and body rather than as the main part, and more veg.

However I find it very uncomfortable restricting the amount can spend on godchildren particularly as our children seem to get very generous presents themselves for birthdays etc. They are in the 4-6 age bracket and probably don't care at all but I hate to seem stingy! One godchild is keen for a particular Lego set and one lives abroad and I generally start with Amazon but can I do better? If anyone has any amazing tips I'd love to hear and I guess I should try Book clubs for deals?

Lots of bargains to be found on this thread, loose. Not sure if any of them would be suitable, but might be worth a browse.
