Is there a way to get best value from Nectar Points?

We have never used any of our points, and are now considering doing all our grocery shopping on points until they are used up. I thnk I heard once that they are worth more if redeemed in your 'home store'. Is this true? Any other ways to get maximum benefit from Necar Points? (we have about £250 worth).

I have not heard that they are worth anymore in your home store.
I save mine up all year and take them of a shop near Christmas.
Not as good as Tesco club card points where you can use them for lots of other things.

I don't know how they work to be honest however I did have about £8 of points and went to buy a cd for £8.99 and it only gave me £5 something off. I was left with a balance and I did ask to use all my points. I keep thinking I should use sainsburys more often as seem to get a lot of points for little shops and would end up with a lot more if I shopped there more often.

I use mine on amazon vouchers - nothing extra but it's nice to treat myself rather than feel it is on groceries iyswim. You can get a nectar app which gets you extra points which I find useful.

I think you have to use them in 500 points worth if that makes sense. So that might be why you couldn't have the whole of the CD.

boring- I think that you can only redeem nectar points in multiples of £5. I save mine up for the big xmas shop. Didn't know you could use them on Amazon, might do that from now on :)

I generally keep mine until I need something biggish, eg I "bought" a pram from Argos with my points once, also a stereo, some Lego, various other big Christmas presents, all from Argos.
I'm not sure they do such good exchange deals as Tesco, but still, getting something for nothing is nice

We should have done our Christmas shopping on Amazon with them. We bought a new TV in the sales after Christmas and now want to pay that off from the Visa card partly by saving money on groceries by using Nectar.

If you look on their website then they show you what you can exchange points for - it's 500 per £2.50 at Amazon but you can get odeon vouchers I think and other things. Plus you can get points by going through the nectar website if you buy something at amazon and eBay and lots of other places. The good thing with nectar rather than tesco is that you don't have to wait for your vouchers to come - the points get updated continuously. You can also use nectar card in homebase and other places and get points for surveys sometimes.
