Putting pen to paper and I'm a little bit nervous.....Would anyone read this?

Ok, so maybe not pen to paper, maybe fingers to keyboard but....

I spent 6 years working as a holiday rep around Greece and Cyprus and while it was a LOT of fun, there were also some really tough times, to be honest towards the end I really struggled with various issues, including a bullying boss.
Now, obviously over those years I also had a lot of fun, and have a lot of stories to tell. So I have considered writing a book. An almost auto-biographical account of life overseas, using some of the more interesting stories (names changed obviously) and how I finally grew up (I was a bit of a nerdy no-hoper when I left, living in the shadow of my perfect older brother) all set against the backdrop of some beautiful locations.
I have started to put it together but would anyone even read this?

Sounds like you've got the makings of an interesting story there - a good beach read! If this is to be a novel and not a memoir, I would keep the purely autobiographical baggage as light as possible, and just focus on creating a great plot and vivid characters. Also be careful if you're looking to base characters on real-life people - it is possible to be sued for defamation, even in fiction, so make sure those people can't be identified in your work (just changing names isn't always enough). Hope that helps.

Thank you chans.
Ive got the bones of it...just filling it in now. First draft of first chapter done. I've never been so nervous.

Sounds really fun. Sure it would be popular. Enjoy yourself.
