Hello

Is anyone doing NaNoWriMo this year?
I'm going to start it at least & hopefully finish it. I've got characters swirling around in my head at the moment & some glimpse of a possible plot...

you are amazing, well done

actually you all are

TunipTheVegedude Fri 07-Dec-12 15:06:22

And now the draft is done!
62k in the end (the last chapters went faster than I thought).

I am bereft. I've been working at this madly for 3 months (2 months of research, one of writing).

Now for more research and all those 'how to edit' books while I put the draft in a drawer.

Well Done Tunip!

TunipTheVegedude Wed 05-Dec-12 15:57:47

Thank you grin

I can't believe how thrilled I am, given that 1. I never meant to do NaNo in the first place, and 2. I'm not even at the end of the novel.

I love the way NaNo gives you permission to celebrate. I would never have dreamed of celebrating a first draft before, in case it was rubbish, but actually it's worth patting oneself on the back no matter what it's like.

Yay! Well done! Excellent stuff. smile

Well done Tunip !

I have the nano Winner logo on my facebook and since everyone now knows what Nano is cause I've been wittering on about it for a month people keeping asking, "So, what prize did you win then?" grin

GrendelsMum Wed 05-Dec-12 15:06:17

Congratulations Tunip! Just popping in to say well done - you ARE a winner!

TunipTheVegedude Wed 05-Dec-12 14:18:27

Done it!

Can I count as a winner, given that I started on 8th Nov and it is still only 5th Dec?

Quite a lot still to happen in the plot. I've just written a creepy scene with the Duke of Norfolk in it (this Duke of Norfolk, not the current one who I'm sure is perfectly lovely).
It's going to be over 80k in the end I think, but there is plenty of rubbish to cut.

Penelope, how's yours going?

GrendelsMum Tue 04-Dec-12 13:37:22

well done - nearly there!

TunipTheVegedude Tue 04-Dec-12 09:13:46

44.5k.
The internet was down but I had a cracking day. Or should that be, so I had a cracking day.

Penelope1980 Tue 04-Dec-12 06:53:36

I'm here to support you turnip! At 40,000 now - was higher, but just deleted a bunch of words after deciding to do a story line a bit differently.

GrendelsMum Mon 03-Dec-12 20:14:10

Hey, good for you!

LoopsInHoops Mon 03-Dec-12 09:46:48

Getting there tunip smile

TunipTheVegedude Sun 02-Dec-12 20:38:59

36000.
The nearer Christmas gets, the harder it's going to be to get anything done and I MUST finish before then - not just the 50k but the whole draft.

LoopsInHoops Sat 01-Dec-12 13:51:23

Excellent, well done! smile

TunipTheVegedude Sat 01-Dec-12 13:44:13

Congratulations FiveHoursSleep, FlyingAardvark and MummyTime!

GrendelsMum Fri 30-Nov-12 22:44:49

Go Aardvark!

Go Mummytime!

mummytime Fri 30-Nov-12 22:31:03

I submitted 50 000, need to do major revision and finish some chapters etc, but very pleased as I started late.

FlyingAardvark Fri 30-Nov-12 22:26:10

Finished!

GrendelsMum Fri 30-Nov-12 21:53:27

We'll keep in here with the support and cheering until Tunip is done!

GrendelsMum Fri 30-Nov-12 21:52:32

Congratulations FiveHoursSleep - terrific news!

Well done to Penelope - keep in there for your next 10,000 by Christmas!

Yay! Got to 50K today, but really need to write another 10K still.

Penelope1980 Fri 30-Nov-12 20:15:25

Congrats! wine wine wine

I did 20,000 new words in the end, bringing my total to 40,000. My aim is 50,000 by christmas and to finish by the end of Feb (think book will be about 80,000 based on plan).

So I will still be hanging around writing if any of you care to join me?

I have re-thought some of what I've currently written based on my assessment that I got for my first novel, so have decided on a burst of editing of my current draft as well before I continue, while the ideas are still fresh.

FlyingAardvark Fri 30-Nov-12 19:17:54

arghhh I've been at work all day, dropped DS off at cubs, switched laptop on, fell asleep, just woke up and now got to pick DS up.

I will get this finished after 8pm!

Well done to everyone!
