Do you go on writing forums?

If so, which ones do you find useful?
I think I will need some help and guidance on the book I want to write as it's a different genre, than I would normally write.

Is there any forums geared up mainly on the children's side of writing?

I do use forums - one for literary and another for horror/dark. We critique one another and share rejections/success stories. Yes it is hugely beneficial - we do not soft soap and all of our writing is stronger as a result.

Sorry though - I don't know any specific children's writing forums......

Thanks Punk. Can I ask which ones you go on?
Ive just found the Word Cloud, which seems really friendly but a different kind of layout. Writewords also looked quite good, some I have been on really do seem to focus more on the grammar, than the writing itself.

Oh no - a pedantic grammar police style site can be counterproductive.

I have just found Shock Totem - which has regular competitions and pays for stories. But no in-depth critiques - and it's horror genre. The one I use most is for experienced writers - basically by invitation. But no children's writing, I'm afraid.

Have heard of Word Cloud - sounds good.

I will ask some friends for some more...

Thanks Punk. I agree, you get bogged down with it and then start to think that perhaps your not so good after all, just because of the odd semi colon. Grin

Please if you can ask your friends, that would be good. I'm definitely not ready for the experienced writers yet but interesting to know its out there.
