I had my right tube & ovary removed in March 08 & have been TTC for the last 3 months. At the time of the op we hadn't discussed having another baby, but the dr didn't really give me the option of keeping the ovary as cyst was so big, but now that we are trying it plays on my mind that my chances are now more limited with only half the equipment.

Hi Smiley, I had cancer 7 years ago & the tumour basically crushed my left overy & the chemo depleted the egg reserves in my right one. I have a 1 year old baby boy & am 8 weeks pregnant with my second. It can happen & I'm sending lots of happy thoughts your way & wish you all the luck in the world.

Hi secondmrsdewinterwonderland thanks for answering. Its great to hear a positive outcome. We are going to keep trying for the next couple of months, then in the new year I have to make an appointment with the gyno to have my other ovary checked up on as they said I had a couple of smaller cysts on that one & they would take another look at them 6/8 months down the line. So if I don't get a BFP by then at least the gyno can make sure I'm in working order..or not

hi there. my sister lost one ovary and one tube in her early twenties. like you she had an ovarian cyst. she has two dcs now and i think she was just told the remaining ovary would just take over and do the job of two.
