I wish I could give my boyfriend the baby he wants

I suppose I'm letting off steam here, there's probably no magic answer to this. I've already got 2 adult children from my previous marriage, and I thought when I started going out with my 44 year old boyfriend a couple of years ago we wouldn't have too much baggage from his side as he's never been married before. Now he's told me he regrets not having children. I'm 53, haven't hit the menopause yet, but having chidren now is not competely impossible, but highly unlikely. This is probably quite unusual, but I wish I could give him the baby he wants. Has anyone else out there had anything ike this happen to them?

No experience of this - but have you spoken to your doctor?

If your boyfriend was so desperate for a child, why did he start seeing a 53 year old? Sorry if that's blunt but surely he must realise it's something that would be very difficult if not impossible?

It must be difficult knowing that you cant realistically have anymore children and give your boyfriend the baby he wants. But to be fair you have 2 children....even if you could conceive again would you want to go through a high risk pregnancy etc ?
I think Headfairy makes a good point....he knew when you met that you were very unlikely to have children as you're 53. Its not your fault that he didnt have them earlier.
