is it ok to have a smear when ttc?

I'm TTC and I had one recently but it was early on in my cycle so I knew I definitely wasn't pregnant.
If you are concerned could you speak to the nurse / doc who is doing your smear?
I had a chat with the nurse before my smear and she was very helpful.

Hmm if it was day 20 and you ovulated on day 14 the egg would be only just implanting and you wouldn't have established any mucous barrier yet so it should technically be okay. But yes ask the nurse first - call so you don't have to go if you can't do it!

I had a smear & by the time I got the abnormal result I was pregnant. Was told that I could have another smear & a colposcopy if necessary whilst pregnant.

Im ttc I went for a smear 2 wks ago when I was day 24 and the nurse said just incase I should rebook for a couple of weks time
(which is today urghh)
She said as they open the neck of the womb there could be a chance of mc so they prefer to do it the week after your period stopped.
